School Rules

  • 1. Every student must carry his/her almanac and identity card to school each day.
  • 2. A student should afIx his/her photograph and write the required information, duly signed by the parents, in the space provided for in the almanac.
  • 3. Care must be taken of all the school property. No student should damage any school furniture and write or draw anything on the walls. Damage done should be reported at once to the class teacher. Recovery of any damage will be made from the concerned students.
  • 4. No books (other than text books or library books), magazines or papers should be brought to school.
  • 5. Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is prohibited.
  • 6. Parents and guardians of all students should contact the teachers on PTM days to note the progress of their wards.
  • 7. Do not spoil plants and pluck Fowers.
  • 8. No students should indulge in any of the following practices:
  •    - Writing on the uniform
  •    - Spitting in or near the school building
  •    - Smoking
  •    - Any form of gambling
  •    - Use of drugs and intoxicants
  •    - Rowdy and rude behavior
  •    - Use of violence in any form
  •    - Casteism or untouchability in any form
  •    - Bursting crackers or throwing colour on another or painting faces within the school premises.
  • 9. A permission card signed by the teacher (in charge of a period) must be carried by a child going to the clinic for treatment.
  • 10. Student will not overlook the orders, directions and instructions given to them by the school authorities.
  • 11. Students using unfair means during examination will face disciplinary action as decided by the school authorities.
  • 12. No attendance would be given to a student during the period of suspension.
  • 13. No birthday celebrations are allowed in school. No Birthday gift in any form, are allowed. You may send a sapling for plantation on your ward’s birthday. The students can be dressed in the dress of their choice on their birthdays.
  • 14. It is essential for every student to follow prescribed norms of conduct. In case, any student violates the norms of conduct or indulge in acts of indiscipline, a strict disciplinary action amounting to verbal/written warnings/detention/suspension/expulsion will be taken.
  • 15. Decision of The Principal in all such cases shall be final and binding on all concerned.
  • 16. Students who come to school on their own should arrive at the school before the bell rings.
  • 17. Students are not allowed to bring mobile phone to school. If they do so, it will be confiscated.
  • 18. The morning bell is signal for all to go to the assembly or to their respective classrooms. This should be done promptly and in silence.
  • 19. Changing of classrooms between periods should be done in an orderly manner and silently.
  • 20. Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are slovenly dressed or not in uniform will be sent home.
  • 21. All boys (except Sikhs) must keep their hair short. Girls must tie their hair neatly with a green band.
  • 22. Non-Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Sikh boys must wear turbans in class IX and above. A patka may be worn only while playing games.
  • 23. Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is prohibited.
  • 24. The school is not responsible for goods. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles (like expensive watches, fountain-pens, items of jewellery) to school.
  • 25. The School reserves the right to suspend students whose progress in studies is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • 26. The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all the belongings of the students. Water bottles, blazer and jerseys should also bear the name of the student.
  • 27. The school insists on the following measures to be observed by the staff members and all students. Care must be taken to observe the “green rules” in order to maintain clean and green surroundings. That is, school premises should not be littered with disposable tumblers, papers or polythene bags. If polythene bags are brought to school, care should be taken not to dispose them off in the school grounds. Minimal use of polythene bags will be appreciated.
  • 28. Delhi Public School Dhuri students should invariably be polite wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying and use of foul language are punishable offences.
  • 29. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments such as knives etc. to the school, or any kind of object that can cause injury to others.
  • 30. DPS Dhuri provides education from nursery to class XII. Therefore, it is expected that the juniors should be treated with love and affection, while the juniors show all respect to their seniors. There should be perfect harmony between the juniors & seniors.
  • 31. Students using the school bus will maintain discipline in the bus. Bus facilities will be withdrawn where discipline is not properly maintained.
  • 32. Students are not allowed to go to a relative/friend’s house from school via school transport.
  • 33. The school provides all the necessary equipment for sports activity during the games period. Students are not allowed to bring their own balls, bats etc to the school.
  • 34. Students are not allowed to use the school telephone without the permission of the Receptionist. They will not be called to answer phone calls during class hours.
  • 35. School rules can be changed without prior notice or reason.
